Charlie Hukill, Professor of Theatre at McMurry University and the Chair of the Division of Fine Arts in the School of Arts and Letters, was the featured speaker at McMurry University’s 2014 Fall Commencement at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 13, in Radford Auditorium. Forty-eight students received degrees at the ceremony.

Rev. Amy Wilson Feltz, associate pastor at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Abilene, was the guest preacher at Baccalaureate service at 5:30 p.m. Friday, December 12, at Aldersgate.

Hukill holds a BFA in Theatre from Stephen F. Austin State University, an MFA in Design and Playwriting from Trinity University, via the Dallas Theater Center, and has completed an additional 60 hours of post graduate study in Fine Arts, with concentrations in Playwriting, Acting, Directing, and the Fine Arts, from Texas Tech University.  He holds the title of Technical Director/Designer for the Theatre program, but, like all McMurry Theatre faculty, is a generalist, teaching courses in Playwriting, Directing, Survey of Fine Arts, as well as Stagecraft, Scene Design, and Light Design.  After teaching at Hardin Simmons University for six years, Hukill joined McMurry in 1985.
