David Heringer named Vice President for Enrollment Management at McMurry University

David Heringer has been named vice president for enrollment management at McMurry University beginning Feb. 9, 2015.

In his new position, Heringer will oversee the admission, financial aid, student affairs, registrar, the academic enrichment center, and the Dyess offices.

“David Heringer brings a wealth of enrollment experience garnered during his twenty-three years as an enrollment professional in private higher education,” said McMurry University President Dr. Sandra S. Harper. “I believe his expertise, experience and energy will benefit us greatly in the important work of enrollment management at McMurry.”

As Vice President for Administration at Lyon College in Batesville, Ark., Heringer has directed the offices of Admission and Financial Assistance since 2008, focusing on strategic enrollment planning, recruitment, retention and marketing.  This fall, Lyon welcomed the largest group of new students to campus and recorded the largest enrollment in its history. Since the fall of 2008, the College has grown from 438 students to 715.  From 2010 to 2012, he also directed the office of Institutional Advancement and was responsible for meeting enrollment goals, fundraising goals and marketing and communication goals. said Heringer. “The excitement, commitment, and dedication evident from the entire community convinced me McMurry is where I want to be.  Faculty, staff and students have a real passion for this place and I am looking forward to becoming a part of the McMurry community.  I am here to serve.”  

 Heringer also has served in enrollment management and admission positions at the University of Mary, Central Methodist College, Bethel College, Sierra Nevada College, Huron University and Rocky Mountain College. 

Heringer received his bachelor's degree from Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana, and a master's degree from the University of Mary, Bismarck, North Dakota. David is married to Christina and they have two children, Emma and Evan.
