Abilene, TX

More than 160 McMurry University alumni, students, families and friends of are gathering together in groups on Saturday, April 25, for the first McMurry Serves, a community service initiative which embodies the Servant Leadership spirit at McMurry.

There are three different activities in Abilene - Nelson Park cleanup, McMurry campus beautification and Adaptive Recreation Services – as well as events in 11 cities in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico.

“I’m so excited to be able to offer this experience to our alumni and students. Although I haven’t been at McMurry for a long time, I have learned quickly that Servant Leadership and living life with a servant’s heart is at the core of everything we do,” said McMurry Alumni Director Suzann Couts. “The response by our alumni and students for this event has been overwhelming. I look forward to doing it again and hope we have alumni in more cities step forward to help lead new groups in the future.”
