McMurry University History Professor Dr. Don Frazier was recently awarded the Tom and Ada Myrick Distinguished Service Award by the North Louisiana Civil War Roundtable, located in Shreveport, Louisiana, for his work in Civil War history.

McMurry University Professor of Philosophy Dr. Jeffery Kinlaw recently returned from the triennial meeting of the International Fichte Gesellschaft that was held in Madrid, Spain last week. He presented a paper, “Ich and Selbst(Bild)ung: Fichte on Self-Determination and Self-Knowledge,”  at the conference. There were presenters from 24 countries, and of the roughly 120 presenters only eight were from the United States. The next meeting of the society will take place in Germany in 2018. He also made a presentation on Hegel at the annual meeting of the American Catholic Philosophical Association held in Boston this month.

McMurry University student Daniel Kent has been offered a seat in the Fall 2016 class at Texas Tech School of Pharmacy. He is the first student taking advantage of the recently signed agreement enabling early admission of McMurry students into the Pharm.D. program.  He will forego his senior year at McMurry to start Pharmacy School and will receive his B.S. in Biochemistry degree upon completion of his first year at Texas Tech School of Pharmacy.
