Attached are news items of interest from McMurry University faculty, staff and students.

  • Dr. Philip LeMasters, Professor of Religion and Director of the Honors Program at McMurry University, presented "The Interrelation of Eucharist and Marriage: The Mission of the Parish in Forming Communicants and Spouses in Holiness" at the International Symposium on the Mission of the Parish and the Monastery in a Continuously Changing World sponsored by the Faculty of Orthodox Theology, University of Babes-Bolyai, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, on November 3.
  • McMurry University students from Honors Introduction to Christianity joined Dr. Philip LeMasters and Dean Vanessa Roberts-Bryan in visiting with the nuns at Our Lady of Grace Carmelite Monastery in Christoval, TX. The class then went to San Angelo to visit with Bishop Michael Sis of the Catholic Diocese of San Angelo.
  • Dr. Ann-Marie Lopez attended Bard College's Institute for Writing and Thinking in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY. Her workshop was titled Psychology in the Classroom: To the Lighthouse and Are You My Mother? 
  • McMurry University Biomedical Science graduate Karen McAlister has been accepted into the Texas Tech University Graduate School of Biomedical Science's Physician Assistant program. She is a 2014 Honors Program graduate who is an Air Force veteran.
  • The McMurry physics faculty and senior physics student Taylor Freehauf '16 attended Texas Section of American Physical Society meeting at Baylor University on October 29-31. During the conference McMurry Professor Dr. Tikhon Bykov presented a poster on behalf of the recently graduated physics student Richard Garcia '15. This poster entitled “The Numerical Analysis of Baseball’s Trajectory in Flight” was based on the project Richard completed in Classical Mechanics II class he took with Dr. Bykov.
