Former Southwest Airlines Exec to Speak at Women’s Leadership Luncheon at McMurry

Ginger Hardage, formerly the Senior Vice President Culture and Communications for Southwest Airlines, will speak on "Building a Brand from the Inside Out” at the third annual Women’s Leadership Luncheon at McMurry University. The luncheon will be from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 10 in the Garrison Campus Center Mabee Room.  Limited tickets are still available for sale at

Also, the 2016 winner of the Dr. Sandra S. Harper Women’s Leadership Scholarship will be announced at the luncheon.

Hardage retired for her position at Southwest in December 2015. As the senior vice president, she oversaw the internal and external communications function for the largest domestic airline (most customers carried). She was a member of various executive committees at Southwest Airlines and led its “Best Place to Work” initiatives. She is an avid public speaker at universities and organizations ranging from Google to Princeton University on topics related to “Building a Brand from the Inside Out.”

She believes she had her dream job at Southwest Airlines, a company that is known for its legendary culture and reputation and a perpetual standout on Fortune’s Top 10 “Most Admired Companies in the World.”

PRWeek has named Hardage to its 2013, 2012, and 2011 Top 50 Power List and previously as one of the 50 Most Powerful Women in Public Relations. Before beginning her career at Southwest Airlines in 1990, Hardage held a variety of marketing and public relations positions at Maxus Energy Corporation, Diamond Shamrock Corporation, and Life Insurance Company of the Southwest.
