McMurry Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Dr. Joshua Knight will be at Midwestern State University March 7-8 for a two-day artist residency that includes a recital, a clinic/lecture, and individual help sessions with MSU Percussionists.

Knight will perform repertoire that was commissioned by, and composed for him as well as standard marimba literature.  He will also be speaking to MSU students and faculty about the process of organizing a Consortium Commission.

On March 11, Knight travels to The University of Central Arkansas to present the world premiere performance of his newest commission composition, “The Wind That Turns The World” by Blake Tyson.  Knight will be a featured performer at the UCA Percussion Festival, an event that began in 2001 and attracts hundreds of percussionists from several states.
