McMurry University political science professor Dr. Joel Olufowote has accepted the final return invitation to participate as Program Advisor to the Study of the United States Summer Institute exchange program, organized and funded through the United States State Department Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. This is his seventh year working with the program and third constructed as a sub-grant opportunity with McMurry University.

This program brings in exceptional university level student leaders from all over the world to study American politics and public policy at the local, state and federal levels. As a six week intensive study and tour program, the students take classes from leading political scientists and travel many parts of the United States, ending with a week stay in Washington D.C. to meet federal officials and policy makers. Alumni of the program have gone on to pursue both undergraduate and graduate study at leading educational institutions around the world including Harvard, London School of Economics, MIT, Princeton and Carnegie Mellon, among others.
