McMurry University’s Model UN students continued their record of excellence at this year’s national conference in New York City.  Representing the delegation of Cyprus, senior political science majors Doug Alldredge and Tereza Sliter, junior physics and mathematics major Kirk Hodel, and sophomore business and finance major Samuel Perrone, were awarded with a “Distinguished Delegation” performance, the highest delegation level of recognition received in New York over the last three years.

“We had a smaller team than usual this year and were in simulation with universities that brought 20 students and more. National Model UN- New York is the mega-conference with over 5000 college and university students altogether.  It is extremely difficult, no matter the size of your team, to get recognized unless your performance is uniquely spectacular,” said sponsor Dr. Joel Olufowote. “Our students came prepared, exceled in their roles and, despite our size, gained the attention and respect of their peers and especially the conference organizers. I am very proud of the way these students represented McMurry University.”
