Nine McMurry University students, faculty and staff will be traveling to Haiti for a mission trip on May 15-22.

Students Ashley Parsley ’16, Haley Shepard ’18, Savannah McClure ’16, Samantha Ritz ’18, Chris Kiser ’18, Payden Dompe ’16, and Dona L’ne Kirkes ’17 will be serving on the mission trip, accompanied by McMurry Chaplain Rev. Jeff Lust and Religious Life Administrative Assistant Amanda Cokonougher.

This is the fifth time a McMurry group has gone to Haiti to work with Partners In Development, a faith-based agency that works toward “whole life transformation.”

The organization provides micro loans to individuals to create sustainable income.  As the recipients repay their loans, they get something done for their home as an incentive to keep paying. There is also a health clinic available for the residents. The team will have the option to do construction work or clinic work each day.
