McMurry Fall Convocation and Rally on Tuesday, August 30

McMurry University will celebrate its successful $10 million campaign for the new School of Business at the official Fall Convocation at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 30, in Radford Auditorium.

Immediately following the convocation, there will be a student rally on the quad to celebrate the success of the campaign including music, games, prizes and food provided by alumni food truck owners Matt ’07 and Kelly ’08 Proctor from Stillwater Barbeque and Jesse Husbands ’11 from Rock'n Roller'z as well as from Pioneer food service.

The convocation address will be given by the new Dean of the School of Business and Professor of Economics Dr. Paul Mason. Dr. Mason comes to McMurry from the University of North Florida where he was the Richard de Raismes Kip Professor of Economics at the University of North Florida. Prior to that position he was the acting dean of the Coggin College of Business after having been the chairman of his department.

McMurry President Dr. Sandra Harper will preside over the event. McMurry Student Government President Thierry Tchenko will offer a greeting to the students and Dr. Bryan Stewart, associate professor of religion, will give a welcome from the faculty.
