Attached are news items of interest from McMurry University faculty, alumni and students.

Dr. Jeffery Kinlaw published an article titled “Autonomy, Moral Education, and the Carving of a National Identity” in *Fichte’s Addresses to the German Nation Reconsidered*, edited by Dan Breazeale and Tom Rockmore and published by SUNY Press.

McMurry alumnus Jonathan Urbanczyk '11 co-authored a paper, based on his research under the direction of McMurry chemistry professor Dr. Hyunshun Shin, on the discovery of new antibiotics. His honor’s thesis research, supported by Robert, A. Welch Foundation, Sam Taylor Foundation and McMurry University and co-authored with Kim, Sung-Kun; Demuth, Mara; Schlesinger, Sara R.; Kim, Sung Joon;  Shaw, Robert W.; and Shin, Hyunshun was entitled “Inhibition of Bacillus anthracis Metallo-b-lactamase by Compounds with Hydroxamic Acid Functionality” published by Journal Of Enzyme Inhibition And Medicinal Chemistry, Currently he is doing a residency in internal medicine with the hopes of sub-specializing in cardiology afterwards at Baylor Scott and White Hospital Temple, TX.

McMurry Alumnus Rachel Holmes Sherrill ’12 was featured on WFAA TV News in Dallas/Ft Worth for her mugs being sold exclusively at the Magnolia Flour bakery in Waco, Texas. The bakery is owned by Chip and Joanna Gaines of hit show Fixer Upper on HGTV. Sherrill has a studio in Maypearl, Texas.

Two McMurry psychology department alumni have recently been accepted into graduate programs beginning this fall. Jason Herfurth ‘10 has been accepted into St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Seminary in Yonkers, New York. Annabelle Argueta ’15 has been accepted into the M.S. in Clinical Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy Program at Hardin Simmons University.

McMurry alumnus Seth Saathoff ’13 graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary in May. He has accepted a call to First Presbyterian Church in Shreveport, Louisiana as associate pastor. His ordination service will be held there on September 18.

McMurry alumnus Josh Stueve ’13 graduated from Boston University School of Theology in May. He has accepted a call as pastor of First United Methodist Church in Alpine, Texas.
