Joe Morrow and Megan Johnson of Interfaith Youth Core will speak on the topic “Religion as a Bridge, Not a Barrier” at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, in Bishops Hall as McMurry University’s first Ubuntu talk of the academic year.

The Ubuntu talks are free and open to the public. Ubuntu is McMurry’s official three-year university theme adopted during the Fall 2015 semester. The term is from the Bantu Nguni language group in southern parts of the African continent. The concept emphasizes interdependence and community over rugged individualism.

Interfaith Youth Core trains collegiate interfaith leaders who inspire students to work for the common good across lines of religious difference.
