McMurry University’s Servant Leadership Program and Campus Ministry will be hosting a Students vs. Blood Cancer bone marrow donor drive in the Garrison Campus Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day from Monday, October 31, through Thursday, November 3. The event is part of the efforts by DKMS to build the donor base for patients needing blood transplants.

Participants will be asked to swab a cheek and register as a potential donor. Information on the donor process will be available.

DKMS is an international not for profit organization dedicated to the fight against blood cancer and blood disorders by: creating awareness; recruiting bone marrow donors to provide a second chance at life; raising funds to match donor registration costs; supporting the improvement of therapies through research; and supporting patients from day one of their diagnoses. Research into this area has all kinds of applications in medical research.
