The Abstraction Art Show, a collection of art from McMurry University art students and professors, will be on display at McMurry University’s Gypsy Ted Gallery, 1642 Sayles Blvd., through December 2. It is the first 2016-2017 Group Art Show between McMurry art students and art professors. A closing reception will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. December 2.

This show is an exploration between artist and concept. The intention of this exhibition is to further the art students’ knowledge in the interpretation of an idea and portray this idea into a piece of art, culminating in a collection of abstract art from various mediums. The artists explored how lines, shapes, colors, textures, forms, rhythm, repetition and overall composition could symbolize their feelings and thoughts. Non-objective abstract art are forms, lines, and colors arranged without reference to the depiction of an object.
