Students from the McMurry University Department of Curriculum and Instruction will host a regional competition for high school students interested in teaching careers. The Texas Association of Future Teachers event runs from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 16,  in the Iris Graham Education Building. Competitions will be from 9:30 to 11:45 a.m. and awards will be presented at 2 p.m.

The Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFI) is a co-curricular statewide non-profit student organization created to allow young men and women an opportunity to explore the teaching profession. The organization was created in 1984 to provide the best and brightest high school and middle school students in Texas with the necessary knowledge to make informed decisions about pursuing careers in education.

TAFE is sponsored by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals and is governed by a board of directors comprised of teachers, students and principals.
