Below are news items of interest from McMurry University faculty and students.

McMurry University Biology faculty member Dr. Malaney O'Connell and senior students Rachel Thompson and L'Ne Kirkes attended the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium December 6-9.  This meeting featured breaking news in breast cancer research and an opportunity for researchers to connect and forge alliances to support the effort to understand and defeat this disease. The McMurry group is part of Dr. O'Connell's research team and their attendance at the meeting was funded by a grant from the Geographical Management of Cancer Health Disparities Program (GMaP), funded by the National Institutes of Health.

Dr. Mark Waters presented a paper at a pre-conference meeting of the American Academy of Religion for the journal Interreligious Studies and Intercultural Theology. His paper was entitled, Interfaith Dialogue and Contact Theory: An Interdisciplinary Approach to Interfaith Encounter.
