Attached are news items of interest from McMurry University faculty, staff, students and alumni.

Dr. Tina Bertrand’s paper on the UN Alliance of Civilizations has been accepted for formal presentation at the International Peace Studies Conference in Vienna, Austria. The conference is part of the Academic Council on the UN System (ACUNS) series. The keynote speaker at this year’s conference will be Dr. Heinz Fischer, the former president of Austria.

Bryan Stewart, Professor of Religion, recently published an article entitled “The Garland of Immortality: A Theology of Martyrdom in the Early Church,” in Touchstone: A Journal of Mere Christianity (March/April 2018).

Dr, Jeffery Kinlaw has published a review of Christopher Insoule’s *The Intolerable God: Kant’s Theological Journey in *American Catholic Philosophical Quarterly* 92, no. 1 (Winter 2018), 183-187.

Dr. Philip LeMasters, professor of religion and director of the Honors Program, published “Communion with the Prince of Peace” in The Wheel 12 (Winter 2018).

Dr. Jori Sechrist was selected as one of 25 faculty to attend the seminar on Teaching Interfaith Understanding that will be held at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, June 17–21, 2018 sponsored by the Council of Independent Colleges and Interfaith Youth Core.
