McMurry University has named Dr. Pug Parris, professor of kinesiology, as Chair of the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) program. This innovative program allows students to customize their college degree by choosing three different fields of study to focus in on during their time at McMurry.

“I look forward to providing our students with this very dynamic option to obtain a user-friendly degree,” said Dr. Parris, who will also continue to teach in the Kinesiology Department.

The BIS degree allows students to build their own degree by choosing up to three concentration areas similar to minors. It provides a solid college foundation for the students as they go into the workforce and also allows students who may change their major during their time at McMurry to facilitate another option for degrees.
