ABILENE, Texas –McMurry’ University’s Knox-Bennett Writers Series presents nationally acclaimed poet, Carrie Fountain on March 22.

Fountain will discuss the craft of writing poetry at 2:30 p.m. in the McMurry Jay-Rollins Library. That evening at 7:30 p.m. in the Ryan Recital Hall at McMurry, she will read selections of her poetry. Both events are open and free to the public.

A native of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Ms. Fountain’s first book, Burn Lake, received a 2009 National Poetry Series Award and was published by Penguin Press. She is a graduate of the Michener Writing Program at the University of Texas and teaches creative writing at St. Edwards University in Austin.
