To alleviate the growing teacher shortage in the state and to place highly qualified teachers in needed subject areas, McMurry University is accepting applications for its FasTrack to Teaching program.

The FasTrack is a post-baccalaureate teacher preparation program designed for adults who have four-year university degrees and wish to change careers and become teachers. Courses are offered on campus, during the day or evening, and online.

To be admitted to the program, a student must have a bachelor’s degree with a 2.75 grade point average, or a 2.5 GPA overall and 2.75 on the last 30 semester hours along with acceptable scores in reading, math and writing.

Interested individuals may contact the McMurry University School of Education at 325-793-4890 or contact Dr. Gae Lynn McInroe at for more information.
