ABILENE, Texas – The Abilene Interfaith Council and McMurry University are collaborating to bring Dr. Diana Eck to Abilene on April 2 and 3, 2012. Professor Eck teaches at Harvard University and Harvard Divinity School and is the Director of the Pluralism Project (

Events that are open to the public will be held in McMurry’s Mabee Room at 7:30 p.m. on April 2 (Abilene Interfaith Council), 11:00 a.m. on April 3 (McMurry Chapel), and 7:30 p.m. on April 3 (Tri-Collegiate Event).

Dr. Eck is Professor of Comparative Religion and Indian Studies and Frederic Wertham Professor of Law and Psychiatry in Society at Harvard University. She serves on the Committee on the Study of Religion in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. She is also a member of the Department of Sanskrit and Indian Studies, a member of the Faculty of Divinity, and Master of Lowell House, one of Harvard’s twelve undergraduate residential Houses. Dr. Eck is a lifelong Methodist.
