Actually, who are we not to be?” Carly is grateful for the McMurry community for prodding her to think deeper, dream bigger, and working with her to do things she didn’t think she could do.

A native of Dallas, TX, Ricky Harrison is currently a religion student at McMurry University. Ricky has been actively involved in youth ministry previously as a student and currently as a young adult advocate for the past nine years. As a youth in high school, Ricky served on youth ministry boards at the Local Church, District, Conference, Jurisdictional, and Global levels. Now a college student, Ricky enjoys working with and empowering young people all across the South Central Jurisdiction. As a student at McMurry, he has traveled through the New Mexico, Northwest Texas, and North Texas Annual Conferences leading workshops and preaching at youth gatherings of various sizes.
Ricky has a special passion for empowering young people to step into leadership and fully participate in the shaping of the present and future of our Church. His passionate heart for mission work also keeps him working closely with organizations both domestic and abroad from Shiprock, NM to West Dallas to Juarez, Mexico.

Ricky also has a passion for education – meshing the heart and the head in order to find a way to live out his faith in the real world. He has studied at the Duke Youth Academy, Perkins School of Youth Ministry, and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Arts in Religion with a double minor in Greek and Sociology at McMurry University. He constantly strives to connect his experience in the academic world with practical applications in the everyday world. As a young adult leader, Ricky seeks to empower other young people to cultivate and activate the strong leader and theologian which lie within us all.
