Capital Campaign Continues to Bear Fruit

McMurry University wrapped up its most successful capital campaign in its history with a celebration event in October 2010. The $39 million Shaping the Future campaign has already resulted in numerous capital projects, including the unveiling of the Furr Welcome Center and massive renovations to the Finch-Gray Science Building and the Jay Rollins Library. This summer, the university will move forward with a number of other planned projects, the largest of which is an $8 million renovation of Old Main, a historic icon originally constructed in 1923.

According to Dr. Paul Fabrizio, Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Old Main is the heart of academics on campus. Our renovation of it shows McMurry’s continued commitment to academic quality and our desire to have state of the art teaching technology in our classrooms.

Construction is scheduled to begin this week with the relocation of offices and classrooms to other parts of campus, and the renovation is expected to be completed in the fall of 2013.
