Swing, Swang, Swung, a first for McM Theatre The second production of the 2012 McMurry Summer Dinner Theatre Season isn’t a drama or even a musical play. Swing, Swang, Swung is an evening of music, dining, and dancing in a nightclub setting featuring a fully professional seven piece jazz ensemble with female vocalist.

Dr. Mark Wilcox, instructor of the McMurry jazz ensemble, put the group together and serves as band leader. Ryan Little Theatre will feature a raised bandstand behind a dance floor that will be encircled by candlelit tables where dinner guests may enjoy their meals, drinks and entertainment throughout the evening. Show-only seating will be provided in the Ryan theatre auditorium, and, of course, anyone who wishes to dance will be free to do so. The band will be playing a variety of music featuring classics like “Satin Doll,” “Body and Soul,” “Take the A Train,” “In the Mood,” and “String of Pearls.”

Swing, Swang, Swung will run for one weekend, June 28-30. Dinner seating begins at 7 p.m., and costs $25 per ticket. Show only seating begins at 8 p.m., and costs $12 per ticket. All seats for Thursday’s performance receive a $2 discount.

For additional information call the McMurry Theatre box office at 793-3889 during their regular hours Monday through Thursday 1-6 p.m.
