ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University is proud to be recognized as a top-ranked institution for the 16th consecutive year by U.S. News and World Report Best College Guide. McMurry also was again recognized as one of the most racially-diverse universities in its region. McMurry competed with other institutions in the Western Region of the Comprehensive Colleges-Bachelor’s category for these rankings.

“McMurry is very pleased that US News has again recognized the quality of our academic experience against many fine institutions,” said Dr. Paul Fabrizio, Vice President for Academic Affairs at McMurry University. “We are pleased to be able to offer a rich educational experience for all our students. We pledge to continue to cultivate our students so that they can achieve their potential.”

McMurry moved up one place to thirteenth in the top ranked institution in the Western Region. McMurry was ranked 5th in the Most Diverse category, with a Hispanic population of 19 percent.

In all categories, the top 20 schools are numerically ranked, while tier 3 and 4 schools are listed alphabetically. According to U.S. News and World Report, rankings are based on seven categories: assessment by administrators at peer institutions, retention of students, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, alumni giving and graduation rate performance.
