GREENVILLE, S.C.- McMurry University senior quarterback Jake Mullin (Burleson, Texas) has been named as the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Student-Athlete of the Week in football for the period ending September 22.

Mullin and his War Hawks’ team defeated Wayland Baptist, 76-13. In a little over one-half of action (playing just the first series of the third quarter), Mullin passed for 403 yards and four touchdowns. He completed 32-of-41 passes (78%) with zero interceptions to lead the War Hawks to their first win of the season.

Just for good measure, Mullin also punted once for 48 yards.

Mullin’s four TD passes also tied him for McMurry’s career lead in that category with 93 passing touchdowns in his three-plus seasons at QB.

Mullin, who already owns an armload of awards during his McM career, can now also lay claim as the first-ever War Hawks’ student-athlete to earn accolades from the NCCAA. 2012-13 is McMurry’s first year as a member of the NCCAA.
