McMurry University senior Erica Medina of Loraine, Texas, has been selected into the National Association for Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) Undergraduate Fellows program.

“I am so excited Erica was selected as a NASPA Undergraduate Fellow for the 2013-2014 year! This is a nationally recognized program within the field of Student Affairs and it is a huge honor that she was chosen! Through her experience as a Fellow,” said Baldree. “Erica will gain the skills, knowledge, and tools to excel as a Student Affairs professional, have the opportunity to represent McMurry on a national level, and network in the field through internships and professional development opportunities. I am eager to witness Erica’s growth over this next year!”

The mission of program is to increase the number of historically disenfranchised and underrepresented professionals in student affairs and/or higher education, including but not limited to those of racial and ethnic-minority background; those having a disability; and those identifying as LGBTQ.

This semi-structured program diversifies and broadens the pipeline of the student affairs profession. Students and mentors apply as a pair. If accepted into the program, students are then known as Fellows and have opportunities for scholarships, on-campus mentorship, and professional development events.
