ABILENE, TX — The McMurry University Theatre’s presentation of “U.S.A.” written by Paul Shyre and John Dos Passos and directed by Charlie Hukill, will run Nov. 10-12 and Nov. 17-19 at the Amy Graves Ryan Little Theatre.

The play tells the story of J. Ward Moorehouse, born on the Fourth of July in 1901, who falls in love with a beautiful rich girl and works his way to the top of the heap. Interwoven are the headlines and the celebrities of the times: Ford, Rudolph Valentino, Eugene Debs, the Wright Brothers, Isadora Duncan, the Suffragettes, and all the rest. A striking panorama of an era that is simple in its conception and staging.

Tickets are $7 on Thursday and $10 on Friday and Saturdays. Box office is open Monday-Friday 2-6 p.m. as well as 6:30 to 8 p.m. on show nights. Call 325-793-3889 for tickets.

Come out and enjoy a great show picturing a turning point in our country’s history.
